Biography

Imran Ahmed

Imran Ahmed is a practicing content creator exploring multimedia audio-visual mediums like films, photography, and web curation. Currently based in Kolkata, he has recently shared a special interest as a counter-cultural developer for pan-Indian urban areas, especially in understanding cultural diversity through experimental visual lensing. Besides his practice, he also runs a non-profit photography organization, PhotoPeer Arts & Media Resource Foundation, to promote new conceptual practices around the medium of photography and use it to promote and empower multicultural new expressions. 

Commissioned works:

  • Documentation of Blended Capacity Building for Stakeholders of the River Ganga, commissioned by IIPA & NMCG.
  • Documentation of a sustainable livelihood reconstruction program post the Aila disaster at Sundarban, commissioned by the Consortium of Christian Aid, SEEDS, & Action Aid, and funded by ECHO.
  • Documentation of health centres & clinics-on-wheels for underprivileged population affected by AIDS, Leprosy & TB. The project was commissioned by Calcutta Rescue.  
  • Documentation of the house reconstruction initiative in the flood-affected areas of Upper Assam, commissioned by the Consortium of Christian Aid, SEEDS & Action Aid, and funded by the European Commission.
  • Documentation of educational initiatives among slum children undertaken by Civilian Force, a local NGO in Kolkata.
  • Documentation of rehabilitation in permanent and temporary shelters in the Phailin-affected areas of Odisha, commissioned by the Consortium of Christian Aid, SEEDS, & Action Aid, and funded by the European Commission.
