The Flight
A man and his bird
they both fly..
Such a strong air…
inspite they fly…weightless..
A man and his bird
they both fly..
Wings… cutting through…
cutting through the thin air…
The flurry of feather and fuzz
Flying… beyond time, beyond the thin line..
Jacky and Sankar are young hawkers in Kolkata. They earn their living by selling their products in Hatibagan market and live in an old building nearby, on a rent of about Rs.120 ($ 2-3) per month.
Jacky and Sankar have love for birds. It is their passion. In them they see the hope to fly away from their struggled cubicle life, free from all despair and pain, looking forward to a life with no boundaries, no differences and of freedom!
However, their monthly income doesn’t meet up the expenses they have to spend in maintaining the birds. It’s a hard way of living. Jacky, Sankar and some of their friends have come together to share their expenses.
Once a year they also meet others to release the birds together. Strangely the birds fly back to their masters instead of fleeing, instead of tasting freedom. They come back to their roots to share the daily struggle, the daily hope to live beyond this routine life.. giving them a new hope to live!!
